History of the HLA

The Horseshoe Lake Association (HLA) is an incorporated Ontarion non-profit organization formed in 2004.

Since inception your HLA has worked continuously to support the improvement of our lake and support positive environmental practices.

Our major projects since 2004 have been the beginnings of a formal Lake Plan for Horseshoe/Virtue lakes, as well as facilitating an extended study, evaluation and installation of a permanent weir to replace the existing temporary rock weir at the Blackstone Creek exit point (completed 2015).

In 2015, your HLA was very active again with this past year seeing the completion of the permanent weir and in monitoring and communicating with the local authorities regarding water quality. Click here to view the organizations by-laws.
